Flair Dance Academy and Yoga Center will open its doors Saturday at 236 South Branch Road in Hillsborough.
Owner/director is Amanda Grace, a professional choreographer, coach and dancer. She is the director of the N.J. Devils dancers of the NHL, where she choreographs all routines and trains the team.
Formerly a N.Y. Knicks City dancer, Ms. Grace started blending her passion for dance and sports in 2007 when she became a member of the dance team for the N.J. Ironmen in the Major Indoor Soccer League in their inaugural year at the Prudential Center. In that same year, she also danced for the N.Y. Titans of the National Lacrosse League at Madison Square Garden.
Ms. Grace is also the coach and choreographer for the independent baseball league Somerset Patriots dance team.
Flair will start a free “The Rainbow League” for special needs children.
”Every child has a desire to be something special and share the love of dance with someone like themselves,” said Ms. Grace. “We realize the frustration in some children when they can’t complete a task as fast as their friend. With special needs children, the Rainbow League will move at a slower pace and each child gets to develop at their own speed, to help them feel a sense of accomplishment after every class.”
Flair will offer basic creative forms of dance for the pre-schooler to the most advanced professional. It will offer yoga and pilates for mind, body and soul rejuvenating classes.
