CHAPTER B
It is difficult to believe that our fall season is about to start. We will begin with our September meeting, which is scheduled for the 13th. Our meeting will be at the Municipal Building on South Branch Road and, for this meeting only, we will open our doors at 10 a.m.
Our special dollar sale will be set up in the senior activity room and the early opening of the doors will give everyone ample opportunity to look over the sale items and shop to your heart’s content. Don’t forget to sign in before going to the sale.
We will resume our monthly bingo games Sept 20. Tickets are $3 and this includes a hot dog lunch with chips, drink, snack and two hot dogs. This is the best bargain in town. All seniors are invited to participate — no tickets will be sold at the door. We will be selling bingo tickets at our Sept. 13 meeting.
Spots remain for the trip to the Oktoberfest- Platzl Brauhaus, Ponoma, N.Y., on Oct. 23. The day includes lunch, beer, soda, cider, dancing and entertainment, all for $75.
By popular demand, we hired a second bus. Group leader for this trip is Phil Stoltz. He can be reached at 908-359-6068. We ask those interested to call him for a reservation. You are invited to bring a friend.
Other tickets being sold in September:
Fall luncheon — Thursday, Oct. 11. Cost $20 ($15 rebate upon attendance)
Tropicana Casino — Monday, Dec. 3. Cost of $40 includes bus trip, $15 slot play and a show entitled “Hollywood Canteen Holiday Show. Lunch on your own. Great bargain.
Senior activity rooms (located in the Municipal Building) are open to all seniors residing in Hillsborough who are 60 years of age or older. Rooms are open from 9 to 4 each weekday. We ask that you sign in so we can keep a record of how many are using the rooms.
