Golf benefit to help children with muscular dystrophy

The Forsgate Country Club Foundation’s Chip in for Charity golf benefit will be held Aug. 11 at the club, Forsgate Drive, Monroe Township.

The event will benefit Ryan’s Quest, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing awareness of Duchenne muscular dystrophy, the leading lethal genetic disorder diagnosed in children.

The day begins with 18-hole golf outings on Forsgate’s Banks Course and Palmer Course.

Participants will have the opportunity to win an Aston Martin with a hole-inone on No. 7 on the Banks Course, or a 2014 Mercedes-Benz with a hole-in-one on No. 2 of the Palmer Course.

Forsgate’s touring ambassador and Ryder Cup legend Colin Montgomerie — the 2014 Senior PGA champion and 2014 Senior U.S. Open champion — will compete in a four-hole skins game against area club champions.

The day culminates with an evening barbecue, a silent auction and a concert by The Nerds. Items up for auction include a visit on the field for a New York Yankees batting practice, a photo and flag signed by 2014 British Open Champion Rory McIlroy, a New York City show package, an exclusive chef’s dinner and foursomes at private golf clubs.

The entry fee for the golf outing is $295 on the Banks Course; this package includes a meet-and-greet with Montgomerie, spectator entry to the skins game and the evening events. For $150, one receives access to the Palmer Course, the skins game and evening events.

Tickets are $50 for the skins game and barbecue, excluding golf.

In addition to Northeast Lock, premier sponsors for Chip in for Charity are High Grade Beverage and Hamilton Dental Associates.
