   A new session of Pilates class starts at 9:15 a.m. at the South Brunswick Senior Center at the Municipal Complex, Route 522, with instructor Maryanne Carroll. This is an eight-week session and the cost is $24. Pilates builds strength without excess bulk, creating a sleek, toned body with slender thighs and a flat abdomen. It teaches body awareness, good posture and easy, graceful movement. It improves flexibility, agility and economy of motion. It can even help alleviate back pain.    Community Charity Yard Sale. All proceeds will go to the A21 Campaign that helps exploited women and children. If you are in an HMO, you should receive your immunizations at your HMO facility or you will be charged $20.

   A new session of tai chi starts at 10:30 a.m. at the South Brunswick Senior Center at the Municipal Complex, Route 522,with instructor June Counterman. This is an eight-week session and the cost is $32. Register in person with payment by Aug. 30. Tai chi combines a type of meditative relaxation process with flowing movements, which results in benefits to both the power of the body and the mind. Tai chi can be especially beneficial to those who have arthritis, are recovering from injuries or must have the lowest impact exercises. This program is open to South Brunswick Senior residents 55+.    The South Brunswick Senior Center at the Municipal Complex, Route 522, will present a musical show at 12:15 p.m. about the life of Frank Sinatra.    All South Brunswick seniors 55+ are invited to the Senior Center’s monthly birthday luncheon at 11 a.m. at the Municipal Complex, Route 522. If your birthday is in the month of September please call the office by Sept. 18 to sign up. A special menu will be served followed by birthday cake.
