Graduates

    The following local residents were among the 1,726 students who participated in the commencement ceremony at The College of New Jersey on May 11:

    Ryan Shea, of Robbinsville, who received a bachelor of science degree in finance.
    Rebecca DeVito, of Robbinsville, who received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology.
    Stephanie Gaspari, of Robbinsville, who received a bachelor of arts degree in English, secondary education.
    Robert Jiggetts, of Robbinsville, who received a bachelor of arts degree in history.

    Molly DeVito, of Robbinsville, who received a bachelor of science degree in deaf/
hard of hearing/El.
    Benjamin Koontz, of Allentown, who received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering.
    Elizabeth Wood, of Allentown, who received a bachelor of science degree in nursing, magna cum laude.
    Brian Flynn, of Robbinsville, who received a bachelor of science degree in biology, summa cum laude.
    Lauren Giuffre, of Robbinsville, who received a bachelor of science degree in biology, cum laude.
    Jonathan Harmon, of Robbinsville, who received a bachelor of science degree in biology.
    Kristina Savas, of Allentown, who received a bachelor of science degree in chemistry (ACS-research).


    Local college graduates at other colleges and universities include:
    A. Drew Muscente, of Upper Freehold, graduated from Cornell University in the CALS Research Honors Program, receiving a bachelor of science degree in biology.
    He now is pursuing a doctorate at Virginia Tech in the GeoScience Department, concentrating in paleontology. He is an Allentown High School graduate and the son of Anthony and Donna Muscente, of Upper Freehold.


    Gregory Ross, of Robbinsville, received a bachelor’s degree in professional music at Berklee College of Music’s 2012 Commencement at Boston University’s Agganis Arena in Boston.
    Berklee President Roger Brown also presented honorary doctor of music degrees to Rock and Roll Hall of Famers the Eagles, 27-time Grammy Award winner Alison Krauss, and innovative Ethiopian musician Mulatu Astatke, who delivered the commencement address.

Achievements

    Schuyler Thornton, daughter of James and Lisbeth Thornton, of Allentown, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, for maintaining a minimum 3.4 grade point average.


    Brian Williams, of Robbinsville, a music education major, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton.


    Ryan Bertram Marks, of Allentown, has accepted membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS).
    The NSCS is the nation’s only interdisciplinary honors organization for first- and second-year college students. Mr. Marks was selected based on his outstanding academic performance at Temple University.
