Jose A. Castilla-Puerta, 34, of Hawk Road, was charged with theft for taking an Apple I-phone, valued at $250, belonging to a Carson Road resident who had left it on a shelf at the ShopRite grocery store at the Mercer Mall Sept. 2 between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
A Lawrence Road resident reported that someone spray-painted her 2006 Honda minivan while it was parked on Meadowbrook Avenue between 10 p.m. Sept. 1 and 6:30 a.m. Sept. 2. Damage was estimated at more than $500.
A vandal spray-painted five trucks that were parked on Lawn Park Avenue and a sixth one that was parked on Zoar Street at the intersection of Lawn Park Avenue between 12:01 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Sept. 2. Damage was estimated at more than $500 on each of the affected vehicles.
A cashier at the Capitol Car Wash on Princeton Avenue was scammed out of $69.50 by a man who claimed he had purchased two sets of car floor mats and wanted to return them, without a receipt, between 1 p.m. and 1:05 p.m. Aug. 30. She saw him enter the store, apparently empty-handed, and walk over to the floor mat section where he picked up two sets of floor mats and returned them for a cash refund.
Three 17-year-old juveniles were charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a police officer on patrol spotted them sitting inside a Honda that was parked at the Lawrence Intermediate School parking lot at 9:48 p.m. Aug. 29.
A Brunswick Avenue resident reported the theft of the left-side saddlebag from his Harley-Davidson motorcycle while it was parked outside of a Harmony Avenue home between 6 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. Aug. 29. The saddlebag and its contents, which consisted of a rain suit and rain boots and gloves, plus a tire pump, were valued at $1,652,72.
A Yorkshire Village Road resident reported that someone threw a golf ball through his bedroom window between 10:55 a.m. and 9:55 p.m. Aug. 28, causing $200 worth of damage.
Someone stole a car spoiler and wing from a 2008 Acura while it was parked on Town Court South between midnight and 8:25 a.m. Aug. 28. It was valued at $700.
Ureena Sharae Gurley, 21, of Trenton, was charged with purposely under-ringing merchandise at Macy’s at the Quaker Bridge Mall at 9:49 p.m. Aug. 27 for Tashana Sharae Heath, 39, of Trenton, who was charged with shoplifting. The cashier allegedly rang up clothing worth $35.95 but did not ring up the rest of the items, valued at $613.68.
