A person who came to police headquarters at 7:38 p.m., Aug. 27 to report the theft of his front license plate on West Manor Way was arrested on two outstanding traffic-related warrants out of Trenton, police said.
Police did not release the man’s name. He was transferred to the Trenton Police Department and posted bail.
The cost of the stolen license plate and damage to the man’s vehicle was estimated at $150, police said.
A resident of Amesbury Court reported the theft of her son’s 10-speed Mongoose mountain bike from the backyard of her residence on Aug. 28.
Patrolman Michael Farrell took the report at 4:01 p.m. The bicycle was valued at $100.
A Beacon Court resident came to police headquarters at 8:20 p.m., Aug. 29 to report the theft of her daughter’s bicycle from her front yard.
The stolen bicycle is a blue and white Avalon 26-inch ladies mountain bike valued at $119.
A Route 130 sobriety checkpoint conducted between 10 p.m. Aug. 31 and 3 a.m., Sept. 1 led to the arrests of three people on either DWI or narcotics charges.
Xavier Braswell, 19, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania was charged with possession of marijuana and having a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) in a motor vehicle, police said.
Sean Sapia, 25, of Wrightstown, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
Lamar McCormick, 33, of Trenton, was charged with DWI, refusal to submit to a breath test, careless driving, and reckless driving, police said.
A traffic stop on Hutchinson Road at 10:38 p.m., Sept. 2 led to the arrest of two Lawrenceville residents, police said.
Patrolman Christopher Clifton pulled a vehicle over for speeding and having a non-working brake light, police said. While speaking with the occupants, the officer detected evidence that the driver was intoxicated and that there was narcotics inside the vehicle. The driver failed sobriety tests and a subsequent vehicle search revealed a small amount of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia, police said.
The driver, John Howard, 18, was charged with DWI, possession of marijuana, possession of CDS paraphernalia, driving under the influence of CDS, careless driving, reckless driving, being an uninsured driver, improper maintenance of lamps, speeding, and creating a risk of an accident, police said.
The passenger, Cristal Pelaez-Silva, 18, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia, police said.
Mr. Howard was released pending a future court date, police said. Ms. Pelaez-Silva was transported to the Mercer County Jail on an Immigrations & Customs Enforcement detainer, police said.
