LAMBERTVILLE — The Inn at Lambertville Station, located off Bridge Street near the Delaware River in Lambertville, will host the start and finish line for a Sept. 16 bicycle ride to benefit the New Jersey Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society.
The event is expected to bring over 300 cyclists to the area and “will raise over $100,000,” said a society spokesman.
The society continues to look for cyclists and volunteers to participate in the 10th annual Bike MS “Hops to Hops” ride.
”The society is always hoping for first-time cyclists and volunteers to join the legions of seasoned veterans for a fun and challenging ride,” added the spokesman.
Cyclists can choose from a challenging 40-mile or a metric century (62 mile) ride through the scenic hills of the area’s farmlands and finish at the inn, which is located in Lambertville, next to the Delaware River.
Cyclist registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. The ride will start promptly at 8:30 a.m.
At the end of the ride, the cyclists’ will return to a private picnic area behind the Inn at Lambertville Station, where participants will have lunch and tastings of the River Horse Brewing Company’s ales.
”The thrill of finishing can only be matched by the difference you’ll be making in the lives of 13,000 people in New Jersey and 400,000 people nationwide living with MS,” the spokesman said..
To raise the funds necessary for the continuation of research and empowerment programs for people with MS, cyclists collect pledges for completing the ride.
Money raised from the ride will stay in the local area to provide programs and services for people affected by MS. And, a portion of the money will go to fund critical research programs to find a cure for MS.
The Bike MS “Hops to Hops” is the second leg of the NJ Metro Chapter’s three-part Bike MS Ride Series. The “Coast the Coast” Ride took place in May and the “The Great New Jersey County Ride will take place on Sept. 22 and 23 in Morristown.
