One Voice to Benefit Trenton Children’s Chorus

By Maureen Llort
Princeton, NJ  —- One Voice, a benefit for Trenton Children’s Chorus, will be held Saturday, September 22nd at the D&R Greenway Land Trust Barn. Friends and supporters of TCC are invited to gather for cocktails, a silent auction, live music, and a performance by members of the Chorus. Tanice Fitzpatrick, Harriet Huston and Kate Lindseth chair the second annual One Voice event.
Under the leadership of Artistic Director Patricia Thel, Trenton Children’s Chorus provides exceptional musical, academic, personal and social opportunities  for more than 100 children and youth in the greater Trenton area. Founded in 1989,  all children who love to sing are welcome, and no child is ever denied participation because of inability to pay.  Members range from kindergarten through 12th grade and meet after school for choral rehearsal, drumming instruction, music theory and enrichment.  TCC helps place its members in music and enrichment camps during the summer and provides educational scholarships to current members and graduates.  In an urban area where the high school drop out rate is greater than fifty percent, 100% of TCC’s graduates attend college.  The Chorus has performed at the United Nations, the National Cathedral and Princeton University, in concert with Dave Brubeck and Bobby McFerrin, for the swearing in of Rep. Rush Holt in Washington, DC, and for the inauguration of Governor Chris Christie.
