   Friday, Sept. 14 — Hillsborough High School Cheerleaders will host a food drive for the local Hillsborough Food Pantry at the home varsity football game tonight against Westfield.
Clambake, BBQ
helps special kids
   Saturday, Sept. 15 — Manville-Hillsborough Elks 21st annual clambake and barbecue supports special needs children. 1 to 5 p.m. at lodge on Brooks Boulevard. Grilled chicken and sausage, clams, hamburgers, hot dogs, kielbasa, ribs and salads. Entertainment by Hog Finger band.
   Tickets $35 in advance, $40 at the door. For ages 10-17, tickets are $15, and younger than 10 are free. For tickets, call the lodge at 908-725-1717.
Vendor deadline
for fair at church
   Saturday, Sept. 15 — Reserve a spot by today for the Millstone Valley Columbiettes are organizing their second annual vendor fair at St. Joseph’s Parish in Hillsborough on Oct. 24.    Wednesday, Sept. 19 — Sourland Hills Actors Guild will hold “Seussical, the Musical” open auditions for ages 8 to 88 tonight and Friday, Sept. 21, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Kaufmann Community Center, 356 Skillman Road. Garden club to hear

   Thursday, Sept. 27 — At the Station House in Neshanic Station, the Neshanic Garden Club will hear about bonsai from hobbyist Bob Castronovo. He will also have a sale table.    Friday, Sept. 28 — The Woman’s Club of Hillsborough will have its annual basket auction in the Community Room of the municipal building. Preview 6-7:30 p.m. Light supper available. Advance admission tickets are $8, which include one ticket for the grand prize auction. Tickets at door are $10.

Project Graduation
to collect clothing
   Saturday, Sept. 29 — Project Graduation will collect used clothing, blankets, stuffed animals, bedding and more. 9 a.m. to noon, front parking lot of the high school, 466 Raider Blvd. Put items into plastic-sealed bags and toys in a sealed box.

injured ex-soldier
   Saturday, Sept. 29 — The RoboRaiders tech team will have a car wash at the Hillsborough Elementary School to help soldier Brendan Marrocco, rendered a quadriplegic while serving overseas, with medical needs.

   Saturday, Sept. 29 — Powerhouse Gym on Raider Boulevard will host a fall festival as the gym celebrates its third year anniversary in October. The rain date is Oct. 6. Proceeds from health fair and basket auction go to Somerset Medical Center. Exercise classes for adults. Face painting and activities for kids.
Charity run seeks
walkers, runners
   Sunday, Sept. 30 — Steps Together is a united team that will participate in the Steeplechase Distance Run in Hillsborough on Sept. 30. For a $25 donation, participants receive guided training via email and invites to attend local training sessions. Eight beneficiaries are participating in the program — five families and three nonprofits. Participants select for whom they’d like to participate. Info at www.steps-together.com.

   Friday, Oct. 5 — St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church will hold a tricky tray auction. More than 100 gift certificates and prizes, including 42-inch TV, outdoor grill, Kindle, appliances, theme baskets. Doors open at 5 p.m.; auction at 7.
