CHAPTER A
The next Chapter A meeting will be on Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Municipal Building. Please bring your merchandise for the dollar store, which will be open at the Nov. 1 meeting. Mollie Zezulinski is looking for helpers for that event.
Nominations for the 2013 Executive Boardpositions (president, vice president, treasurer, financial secretary, corresponding secretary and recording secretary) will be accepted at the October meeting. Elections will be held at the November meeting.
Immediately following the October meeting, free flu shots will be administered in the Social Services office.
Meetings start at 12:30 with doors open at 11:30, allowing time to review upcoming events. Refreshments are served after the meeting.
Members may at any time contribute kitchen supplies — coffee, decaf, napkins, plastic sandwich bags, etc. All Hillsborough seniors are invited and may join our club at any meeting. Dues are $5 a year.
On Sept. 17, at 9 a.m., the township is looking for senior volunteers to stuff envelopes at the Municipal Building. Refreshments will be served. On Sept. 15, at 11 a.m., there will be a dedication ceremony at the Municipal Building. honoring the late Peter Biondi. All residents are invited.

Wednesday, Sept. 19 — Feast of San Gennaro at LiGreci’s Staaten in Staten Island. Departing at 10 a.m. from Kohl’s lot. Cost is $82.
Thursday, Sept. 20 — Hillsborough Senior Bingo at 11:30 a.m. at the Municipal Building. Hot dog lunch is $3. Ticket is required.
Wednesday, Oct. 10 — Appreciation lunch and bingo at 11:30 a.m. at the municipal building. Cost is $12, refunded at event.
Wednesday, Oct. 17 — Trip to the Rocking Horse Ranch Resort in Highland, N.Y. Returns on Friday, Oct. 19. Cost is $455 for a single room and $385 for a double. Departs from Municipal Building parking lot. Open to non-members.
Thursday, Nov. 6 — Trip to “A Playhouse Christmas 2012” musical revue at the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse “ near Clinton is back on the schedule. Leaves from Kohl’s parking lot at 10:15 a.m. New cost is $80.
Thursday, Nov. 29 — Hillsborough Senior Bingo at 11:30 a.m. at the Municipal Building. Hot dog lunch is $3. Ticket is required.
Tuesday, Dec. 4 — “Christmas Blessings & Holiday Cheer” at the Royal Manor in Garfield. Departs from Kohl’s parking lot at 10 a.m. Cost is $83, which includes two complimentary cocktails.
Sunday, Dec. 9 — Holiday party at noon at the Falcon Club Good food, music, prizes. Cost is $25 for members, refunded at event, and non-refundable $35 for guests.
We go to the Taj Mahal (within walking distance of the new Revel Casino) in Atlantic City the first Monday of the month. The trip is open to members and non-members (over 21) for $30, with $25 returned. Departs at 9 a.m. from Kohl’s lot and returns at about 7:30 p.m. Call Jo at 908-359-6418 for reservations. CHAPTER B
Our next meeting is scheduled for today, Sept. 13, and our meeting will be held at the Municipal Building. One of our main events will be our sale of new and used items donated by our members.
The sale is taking place in our large Senior Activity Room and begins at 10 a.m. You can enter at any of the doors, however, if you come at 10 for the sale, go to the Senior Activity Room where the sale is being held — do not go into the main meeting room until 10:30 or later. Be sure you sign in so you get credit for attendance. Ticket sales begin at 11 a.m.
We will resume our monthly bingo games Sept 20. Tickets are $3 and this includes a hot dog lunch with chips, drink, snack and two hot dogs. This is the best bargain in town. All seniors are invited to participate — no tickets will be sold at the door.

Oktoberfest at Platzl Brauhaus, Ponoma, N.Y.: The trip on Tuesday, Oct. 23, includes lunch, beer, soda, cider, dancing and entertainment. The cost is $75. By popular demand, we hired a second bus. Tickets are available at September meeting and will be your last opportunity to purchase a ticket. Trip group leader is Phil Stoltz. He can be reached at 908-359-6068.
Fall luncheon — Thursday, Oct. 11. Cost $20 ($15 rebate upon attendance). Tickets for this event will not be available after today’s meeting.
Tropicana Casino — Monday, Dec. 3. Cost of $40 includes bus trip, $15 slot play and the “Hollywood Canteen Holiday Show.” Lunch on your own. Group leader is Nancy Greggo.
A group of Chapter B members will be heading for Stockbridge, Mass., on Tuesday, Sept. 25, for a three-day trip. They will enjoy a two-night stay at the Jimmy Peak Resort. Trip includes Tours of the Mount; Berkshire Cottages; Tanglewood; Trinity Church, and admission to Norman Rockwell Museum.
The last day of trip will include a guided tour of the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute. Two full breakfasts and two dinners are included; one of the dinners will be at the famous Red Lion Inn. The trees should be starting to change colors and all those who have signed up are anxious for this great trip to begin. Group leaders are Bob and Sandy Kwietniak.

Tuesday, Sept. 25 — Annual picnic at Ann Van Middlesworth Park, 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
