A 16-year-old Lawrence Township girl was charged with disorderly conduct, hindering apprehension, resisting arrest, two counts of assaulting a police officer and underage consumption of alcoholic beverages on private property at 4:16 p.m. on Sept. 6.
Police were called to investigate complaints that juveniles were consuming alcohol near a building at the Avalon Run apartment complex. Police saw the teenager outside an apartment, but she ran off.
A police officer caught up with the girl, who allegedly had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath. The officer said he told her that he was going to walk her back to her home in the development, but she walked away from him.
The police officer grabbed her wrist, and she pulled away. Another police officer grabbed her wrist, but she turned around and punched one police officer in the head and punched the second police officer in the chest.
The girl was forced to the ground and subdued. She was released to her mother’s custody.
