The 11th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, was remembered Saturday night at a prayer service at Christ the King Church.
After the Saturday mass, Father Slawomir Romanowski presided over the prayer service.
“With the events of Sept. 11 2001, many people died in New York, Virginia and Pennsylvania because of terrorist attacks,” he said. “We have many emotions on this anniversary and we bring them all to the place to pray.”
“”Deacon Thomas Giacobbe prayed for those as he asked the parishioners to remember the stockholders, office workers, military personnel, maintenance workers, the bystanders, window washers and all the others “who worked together so valiantly and helped each other.”
Father Slavic asked that everyone “remember all those who died from this tragic death. Let us remember these victims, especially our closest friends, may they be in the loving grace of the father.
”Let us pray for the culture of love to be established all over the world,” he said.
