POLICE BLOTTER: Week of Sept. 14

   Officers responded to the parking lot of the 7-11 store for a report that a patron had been inappropriately touched by a store employee, Darmesh Patel, 50, of Evanston Drive, at 2:10 a.m. Sept. 2, police said. The victim, an adult female, reported that the employee had given her a hug under the pretense of not having seen her for some time and then groped her.
   At the conclusion of the investigation, detectives charged Mr. Patel with criminal sexual contact. He was later released police custody pending court action.
   The officer stopped a red Chevrolet on Stockton Street for failing to observe a traffic signal, police said, at 11:30 p.m. Sept. 3.
   The driver, Luis Pintado-Yunga, 32, of Windsor Regency, gave the officer a false name and personal information, according to police. Investigation revealed the driver’s true identity and the fact that he did not have a driver’s license.
   Mr. Luis Pintado-Yunga was arrested and charged with obstructing justice and hindering apprehension, as well as the traffic violations. He was later released pending court action.
   Police said an officer observed a red Ford traveling west on Dutch Neck Road in an erratic manner at 2:37 a.m. Sept. 5. The vehicle was stopped as it pulled into the Kensington Arms Apartments.
   Police stated that the driver, Darian Irving, 18, of Ewing, refused to identify himself to the officer or to provide any documentation.
   He was charged with obstructing justice, impeding the flow of traffic, improper turn, failure to exhibit driver’s license, failure to exhibit registration, failure to exhibit insurance, careless driving, uninsured vehicle and provisional license violation.
   While in police custody, the driver was identified and later released pending court action, according to police.
   According to police, after an officer observed a 2006 Nissan traveling eastbound on Rt. 571 with a driver who was not wearing his seatbelt, the vehicle was stopped as it turned onto Dutch Neck Road from Route 130 at 12:26 a.m. Sept. 4.
   As the officer spoke with the driver, he observed suspected marijuana inside the vehicle, police said.
   Investigation revealed that the vehicle contained four bags of suspected heroin, three bags of marijuana, rolling papers, a marijuana grinder, a switchblade knife and two false driver’s licenses in the name of the driver, Brian Pontell, police said.
   Bail for the driver, Brian Pontell, 19, of West Windsor, and the passenger, Steven Mihalyi, 22, of West Windsor, was set at $7,500 individually.
   Both men posted bail and were released pending court action.
   Mr. Pontell was charged with possession of heroin, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of illegal weapon, possession of fictitious driver’s license, possession of drug paraphernalia, drugs in a motor vehicle and failure to wear seatbelt
   Mr. Mihalyi was charged with possession of heroin, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of illegal weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
