Money comes from township’s credit card program
Applications will be taken until Oct. 4 from senior citizen, youth, sports and non-profit organizations who seek a grant from the township’s credit card fund.
Applications can be found online at www.hillsborough-nj.org or at the municipal clerk’s or clerk’s office in the Peter J. Biondi Building at 379 South Branch Road.
Individuals can sign up for a special Hillsborough Township credit card through the Affinity Federal Credit Union. A percentage of the amount of usage on the card is returned to a township trust fund. An advisory committee oversees the disbursement of grants.
Earlier this year, eight grants were awarded to Boy Scout troops, senior citizens organizations and youth activity groups.
“We are always excited to open the application process because that means the program is working and organizations within Hillsborough are benefiting,” said Deputy Mayor Gloria McCauley.
