MANVILLE: Airport gains two state grants

Central Jersey Airport on the Manville-Hillsborough border will receive two state grants totaling more than $212,000.
One grant, for $147,250, will support a project to build a general aviation jet fuel tank and self-service system, while the other grant for $65,246 is for security fencing.
Both grants are administered by the state Department of Transportation Airport Improvement Program.
The grants are among 25 totaling $11.4 million that will enable 14 municipalities, eight freight railroads and three airports to advance infrastructure improvement projects.
Two other general aviation airports are receiving grants. Trenton-Mercer Airport (Mercer County) receiving nearly $1.4 million to support an airport security fence project. Sky Manor Airport (Hunterdon County) is receiving $147,250 for an aircraft apron.
The 16th District delegation of state Senator Christopher “Kip” Bateman and Assembly members Jack M. Ciattarelli and Donna Simon said that grants to the Central Jersey Airport are an important investment in the region’s economy and transportation system.
“Central Jersey Regional Airport is an asset to our area’s economy,” said Sen. Bateman. “This state investment will ensure that this facility continues to thrive for years to come.”
