Fri., Sept. 21
   Remembrance: Thomas J. Kavanaugh Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2290 and its Ladies Auxiliary will conduct the annual POW/MIA service at the post home at 600 Washington Ave., starting at 7 p.m.
Sat., Sept. 22
   Community Day: Noon to 4 p.m., Lincoln Park in Lost Valley. Hot dog eating contest, egg toss, Moon Bounce, music. Free hamburgers, hot dogs, cotton candy. Bring T-shirt and tie-dye it Mustang blue and gold.
Sun., Sept. 23
   Pasta supper: Spaghetti and meatballs dinner, penne in vodka sauce, baked ziti. Sacred Heart Altar Rosary Society holds in church auditorium, Filak Street. 3-7 p.m. $8 adults, $4 kids 8 and younger. Tickets sold at door. Food donated by Manville Pizzeria.
Sat., Sept. 29
   Health fair: The Board of Health Department will host family health and safety day for residents from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the community room of the library, 100 South 10th Ave. Flu shots and blood screenings.
Fri., Oct. 5
   Tricky tray: 100 gift certificates and prizes, including 42-inch TV, outdoor grill, Kindle, appliances, theme baskets. Doors open at 5 p.m.; auction at 7. Tickets at $10 include one sheet of tickets, desserts. Stuffed cabbage, kielbasi and sauerkraut sandwiches, other food for sale.    Fri., Oct. 12
   Sign dedication: The new electronic sign on the front lawn of Manville High School on Brooks Boulevard will be celebrated at 6 p.m., rain or shine. Homecoming and football game will immediately follow on turf field.
Sat., Oct. 20
   Walkathon:Benefits VFW. Registration 8 a.m. Walk starts at 9. $25 donation brings T-shirt and dog tag.
Sat., Oct. 27
   Food collection: Non-perishable food and drinks benefit Somerset County Food Pantry. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at American Legion post, 429 South Main St. Sponsors are Marine Corps League 1284, American Legion Post 304, Boy Scout Troop 193.
   Tricky tray: Benefit for The Giving Network, a local charity that accepts donated household goods and delivers to needy. 6:30 p.m., Manville VFW, 600 Washington Ave. $15 admission includes 24 prize tickets.
