Business, Education, and Healthcare Policy Leaders to Convene
At Mercer County Community College for “New Jersey: State of Mercer County 2012”
Warren, NJ n September 21, 2012 – New Jersey’s leading business leaders, academicians, and policymakers will gather in 12 locations across the state in September and October for New Jersey: State of the County/Region 2012, a unique grassroots series on the economy, education, and healthcare in New Jersey. New Jersey: State of Mercer County will be held on Tuesday, Sept 25, at Mercer County Community College Conference Center in West Windsor, New Jersey. The program begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 11:45 a.m., with registration and breakfast from 8:30 a.m. n 9:00 a.m. The conversations are videotaped and posted on the Council’s website, and the public is invited to attend the sessions.
“This series is an exciting launch for the Council,” said Rebecca Perkins, President of the Council. “As we planned our annual New Jersey: State of the State event, we realized that it would have more impact if we gathered information from those who are shaping policy on the economy, healthcare, and education in municipalities and counties around the state. This information will provide an invaluable perspective in November, as we analyze New Jersey Presidential and Congressional election results, and as we look ahead to next year’s elections.”
At the same time, the Council will launch its first statewide public opinion survey, polling attendees and those who view the conversations on the Council’s website at www.statepublicaffairs.org. Results of this survey, as well as highlights of the conferences, will form the agenda for New Jersey: State of the State 2012 on November 28, 2012.
Confirmed participants in the September 25 event include:
• Assemblyman Dan Benson, D-14;
• Anthony “Skip” Cimino, President & CEO, RWJ Hamilton University Hospital;
• Dr. Patricia C. Donohue, Mercer County Community College; and
• Dr. Samuel B. Stewart, Executive County Superintendent, Mercer County.
