Madison NJ – September 21, 2012-It was a packed house on Wednesday at St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center as the Animal Welfare Federation of New Jersey (AWFNJ), hosted two workshops, “Finding Mr. Grant” and “The One Man Band Guide to Fundraising.”
We had attendees from turtle and bat rescue groups to local community cat advocates and municipal shelters managers, said Rose Tropeano-Digilio, AWFNJ Coordinator. I was impressed to see such a diverse group of animal welfare professionals at our workshop.
As the audience looked on, presenters Maya Richmond from the Animal Welfare Association and Erika Mathews from St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center engaged the crowd with useful techniques on how to reach potential donors and create effective grant applications.
“I was very pleased with my experience at the seminar,” said Susan Stokes, New Jersey Animal Rescue Examiner and volunteer for SAVE, A Friend to Homeless Animals. “Both presenters offered extremely useful information in a clear and concise manner. The attendees were able to ask questions, and I think everyone had something to take away from the presentations that they could put to use in their own rescue group or facility. I will definitely come back for further training on topics of interest.”
Joan Beard, Vice President of CAPIC Cat Rescue, in Raritan, commented further, “The resources and experience the presenters brought to the table were great. It will save our group time because we can tailor their suggestions and ideas to our group based on our goals."
If you missed the opportunity to attend the seminar, the AWFNJ will host an encore presentation of both workshops on Wednesday, October 17th, at the Moorestown Community House in Moorestown, NJ. For tickets visit www.awfnj.org.
