Aaron Chepiga, 21, of Princeton, was charged with eluding and hindering apprehension after allegedly fleeing from a police officer who attempted to pull the motorcyclist over on Nassau Street on Sept. 7 at 11:10 a.m.
Mr. Chepiga was allegedly riding an unregistered and uninsured motorcycle when he was seen by an officer on Nassau Street approaching Stockton Street. When the officer tried to pull him over, officials said he fled at a high rate of speed westbound on Stockton Street creating a hazardous condition so the officer did not follow in pursuit.
Instead, Sgt. Christopher Quaste conducted an investigation, identified Mr. Chepiga and a warrant was issued for his arrest in the amount of $30,000.
In addition. his girlfriend, Kaiya Glover, 21, of Princeton, was found to have given false information to investigators and helped Mr. Chepiga in evading police and hiding his motorcycle.
Mr. Chepiga was later arrested at the police station where he also received in excess of 12 motor vehicle summonses. He posted bail and was released.
