A 50-year-old township man lost his life following an accident at the intersection of Ridge Road and Docks Corner Road Monday morning, according to police.
The unidentified father of three was driving a 1995 Kawasaki motorcycle approaching the intersection when he was struck by a 2004 Honda CRV as it pulled out from Docks Corner Road, police said.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the Honda, Eric Sime, 49, of Wayne, received minor injuries and was treated and released at University Hospital of Princeton at Plainsboro, according to police.
According to police, an investigation by the South Brunswick Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau determined that Mr. Sime failed to yield after stopping for the Docks Corner Road stop sign.
Mr. Sime was issued a summons by police for failing to yield and for obstructing the flow of traffic.
The road was closed for more than two hours as police investigated the crash.
Police have not yet released the name of the victim pending the notification of family, Sgt. Jim Ryan said Tuesday.
