HILLSBOROUGH: School board wants input on drug test policy

The Hillsborough Township Board of Education is reviewing the district’s pupil random drug testing policy. Community input on this policy is essential to the review process.
The Board of Education has set up a two-minute survey available on the district website at www.htps.us//cms/module/selectsurvey/TakeSurvey.aspx?SurveyID=272. The Board of Education would like to hear from parents, community members, Hillsborough business owners, teachers, and students.
Pupil random drug testing is just one of the many methods the Hillsborough Township Public Schools employs to educate students and minimize the use of drugs and alcohol in the community. From the district Life Skills program to high school clubs and service organizations, students are educated starting in elementary school in an age-appropriate manner. There are also substance awareness counselors available to speak with students.
Community input is essential in the Board of Education review process regarding this policy. Please visit http://www.htps.us//cms/module/selectsurvey/TakeSurvey.aspx?SurveyID=272.
