ROBBINSVILLE — Police are looking for two men who forced their way into a locked Gordon Road home on Friday and used a knife to force the elderly homeowner to the ground before ransacking the residence.
Police received a 911 call at 6 p.m. from the victim reporting that he had just been robbed of an undetermined amount of cash. Lt. Michael Polaski said the two men forced their way into the home on the 400 block of Gordon Road by cutting the screen on a rear door with a knife so they could reach in and unlock it.
The victim, who had been alone when the crime occurred, was unable to tell police if the suspects fled on foot or used a car to make their escape. A township police dog brought to the property was unable to track the suspects, police said.
The homeowner was treated for minor bumps and bruises at the scene by Robbinsville EMS, but declined further medical treatment, Lt. Polaski said.
Police described the suspects as two Hispanic men, both about 6 foot, and wearing long-sleeve shirts and blue jeans. One wore a baseball cap, police said.
The police department’s criminal investigations unit processed the crime scene. There were no arrests as of press time on Monday.
