Alexander & Faber support recreation programs

We are collectively writing to all Upper Freehold Township residents to ask for your support and vote on Nov. 6 to re-elect Deputy Mayor Steve Alexander and Committeeman Bob Faber.
For the last nine and six years, respectively, Steve Alexander and Bob Faber have supported all of the recreations programs in Upper Freehold Township. Steve and Bob continue to unwaveringly support all recreation programs while, at the same time, understand the need to be cost-conscience in these difficult times.
For example, they along with Mayor Mount, Committeemen Stanley Moslowski, Jr. and Bob Frascella successfully obtained a grant reducing the overall cost to the taxpayers by almost 50 percent for the much needed facilities building at the Mark Harbourt complex. This is a perfect example of Steve Alexander and Bob Faber’s ability to work with the Township Committee and address a recreation need while considering the taxpayers’ concerns. It also shows the relationships that Steve Alexander and Bob Faber have developed with Monmouth County on behalf of Upper Freehold in submitting competitive and successful grant applications.
To highlight this point the lacrosse program, which did not even exist prior to the spring of 2007, now proudly sports over 150 boys and girls, and also has a fall program that started this year. Over the last few years, the lacrosse program has played on an undeveloped Reed field with few, if any, basic accommodations for the park’s visitors. The Township Committee now has a plan to develop Reed field into a fully functional, handicapped-accessible recreation park for multiple recreation programs’ use.
The plan to develop the Reed complex is being accomplished in the same fashion — addressing a recreation need while being highly conscientious of the cost to the taxpayers of Upper Freehold. Showing again their great relationship with the county and the ability of Upper Freehold to submit a competitive grant application, a grant in the amount of $250,000 has already been awarded for the development of Reed Field. Another application has been submitted for an additional $215,000 grant that may further reduce the cost of the development of Reed Field.
Steve Alexander and Bob Faber, along with the rest of the Township Committee continue to move forward on the development of Reed Field to support the township’s recreation programs. We encourage all Upper Freehold residents to support and vote for Steve Alexander and Bob Faber on Nov. 6
