The Hillsborough High School marching band will host 18 high school bands at its annual Home Show band festival Saturday, Oct. 13, on the high school football field.
The entrance fee is $10; $8 for students and seniors. Spectators can come any time.
Smaller bands perform early in the afternoon and larger schools in the evening. This competition allows marching bands the chance to ýPage=001 Column=001 OK,0000.00þ
evaluate their own by using the judges’ critiques to adjust programs. It also boosts marching band camaraderie and presents an afternoon of music and pageantry.
The performances begin at 2:30 p.m. with Hillsborough performing at 8:45 p.m.
The Raiders Marching Band will take the field with its performance, “The Edge.” The music is an original composition based on the poem, “Come to the Edge,” by Christopher Logue.
Over the past few years, Hillsborough’s reputation has grown under the direction of Jules Haran, and it is now a Group V band with 112 members.
