CHAPTER B
Our next monthly meeting is Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Municipal Building. It will be our fall luncheon.
Tickets for this event had to be purchased in advance; none will be sold at door. As has been our policy lately, doors will open at 10:30 a.m. Tickets for upcoming events will begin at 11. After a few brief announcements at noon, our luncheon will begin.
Flu shots will be available after the meeting beginning around 1:30 or 2 p.m. If interested in receiving the shot, please ask for a number as you sign in. Please have your Medicare card available.
A group of Chapter B seniors headed for Stockbridge, Massachusetts, this week. They arrived home on Sept. 27. I was planning on enjoying that trip but, unfortunately, I ended up in the hospital for emergency surgery.
However, I received many calls today telling me of the wonderful time everyone had. All enjoyed the two museums they visited and all the good food. Tanglewood, the Norman Rockwell Museum, Sterling and Clark Art Institute, Berkshire Cottages and more made this a wonderful trip.
As I have stated in a previous column, the Trip Committee has been hard at work planning for next year. We hope to have everything finalized before the end of the year. You will receive a copy of the trip list soon.
    Tickets on sale in October:
Thursday, Oct. 18: Bingo. Cost of $3 includes two hot dogs, snacks, drink and prizes.
Monday, Dec. 31: New Year’s Eve at noon. Held at the Brownstone in northern New Jersey and will feature a band and comedian; two free drinks and a complete lunch (soup, salad, roast beef, roast turkey, stuffing, rolls and special dessert.) Soda and beer will be available at each table — all for $67. You will be home in time to welcome in the new year with family.
Co-President Nancy Bertin reminds you that you only have three more opportunities to satisfy the attendance of five meetings this year to remain a Chapter B member. By-laws state that you must attend five meetings to remain a member in good standing. The fall luncheon and holiday party will count.
