The library has reopened as a branch of the county library system and has new hours. The library is open at 10 a.m. every day except Sunday. It closes at 8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
On Monday (Columbus Day), the library will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Manville residents who have a library card should not discard it. It will be your card to use at any library within the Somerset County system. You will not be issued a new card. New cards will be created for those who do not have one.
October concert: A four-hands piano concert will be hosted by the library Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. the husband and wife duo of Paul Kreter and Carolle-Ann Mochernuk will perform classical music. Light refreshments will be served.
Display case: If you have a hobby or collection that you would like to exhibit, call Barbara at 908-722-9722.
Story time: The first session was scheduled to start on Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 1-2 p.m. Children must be 3 ½ by Aug. 31.
Hungry Readers Book Club: The club meets from noon to 1 p.m. on the second Monday of each month. The next meeting will be held Oct. 8. For information, call Beverly Ball at 908-722-3057.
Adult craft night: Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 6:15 p.m. Registration is required. Please bring a glue gun and scissors.
Chess classes: The library is offering free classes for all ages. Call the library to schedule one. All are welcome.
Gifts for the library: If you have new books, DVDs and CDs that you no longer need, consider donating them to the library. In addition, IRS tax-deductible monetary contributions are accepted. Donations are greatly appreciated.
Crochet and Knitting Club Too: The next meeting will be Thursday, Oct. 25, from 6:15-8 p.m. in the Community Room. Bring your yarn and needles and join us. All are welcome, whether you are a novice or experienced.
Cost of copies: The price has been changed to 10 cents for black-and-white copies and 40 cents for color copies.
