Someone drove over her lawn, causing ruts in the grass, a Lee Place woman told police at 10:50 a.m. Sept. 24.
Kids were throwing rocks at a train, a North Street caller said at 6:32 p.m. Sept. 24. Patrols responded and warned a juvenile.
The fire company was dispatched to North Main Street and Duke’s Parkway for a mulch fire at 3:41 p.m. Sept. 25.
A caller reported a verbal argument in the back of West Camplain Road a few minutes before 11 p.m. Sept. 25. Patrols found a man on the street was yelling with his father on the second floor, and there was no argument.
A South 4th Avenue man reported that one of two men who walked over the railroad tracks toward North 4th may have a weapon at 3:49 p.m. Sept. 26. They were gone by the time patrols got there.
A Gladys Avenue woman reported at 8:44 a.m. Sept. 27 there was a shopping cart with four full bags in front of her home. Patrols came and said the bags were garbage. The road department was notified.
A North 9th Avenue woman came into headquarters at 10:33 a.m. Sept. 27 and said someone may be using her deceased mother’s identity. Patrolman Nick Franzoso will investigate.
Patrolman Richard Canuso investigated the alleged theft of $300 from a briefcase in a 2008 Nissan Quest at Adesa Auto Auction on North Main Street at 1:12 p.m. Sept. 27. The victim was a Rock Hill, Maryland, man.
County communications reported a stabbing victim in the rear of a West Camplain Road address at 2:15 p.m. Sept. 27. A 23-year-old woman was transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick. A Manville man was arrested for simple assault, brought to headquarters, processed and released, police said.
As is their duty, police checked on an abandoned 9-1-1 call from South 4th Avenue residence at 5:25 p.m. Sept. 27. A 1-year-old girl reportedly had swallowed a dime and had been choking but was fine. The rescue squad responded, too. Parents signed a “refused medical attention” form.
A Bound Brook Avenue man reported at 5:46 p.m. Sept. 27 that a man was lying in the weeds on Raritan Avenue across from the Weston School. Patrols found a Jasinski Street man who was taking a rest and returned him to his family.
A caller reported a motor vehicle collision between a bicycle and a vehicle at 7 a.m. Friday on North 13th Avenue railroad crossing. Patrols asked for the squad to come out to treat a patient with hand and buttocks injuries. A 50-year-old man refused medical attention.
Adesa Auto Auction reported a recovered stolen vehicle at 11:30 a.m. Friday. Teletypes were sent to Plainfield police.
At 12:20 p.m. Friday a caller at headquarters reported that several pieces of jewelry, valued at $320, were removed from a household on Duke’s Parkway on Sept. 15 between 10:30 p.m. and midnight. Patrols were to investigate.
County communications reported an assault on Brooks Boulevard at 3:14 p.m. Friday. A man, 47, allegedly assaulted a 24-year-old Brooks Boulevard man and fled on foot. The victim was taken to Somerset Medical Center. Patrols searched, but couldn’t find the accused. The victim was advised to sign complaints.
A caller at 9:51 p.m. Sept. 28 said a small SUV with damage to the passenger side drove in reverse the length of the street. Police looked but couldn’t find the vehicle.
Just before 1 a.m. Saturday, a woman told police she had been bitten in the face by an unknown man while at Northside Lounge earlier that evening. Patrols spoke with the woman, who declined medical attention, but wanted the incident on the record.
A woman called to say a squirrel was locked in her bathroom in a North 8th Avenue apartment at 7:42 a.m. Saturday. Animal control was contacted to respond.
A caller came to headquarters at 9:43 a.m. Saturday to report she had lost her wallet containing cash, debit cards and New Jersey driver’s license. She was advised to cancel all credit cards as soon as possible. The incident was put on the record.
A South 7th Avenue caller at 10 a.m. Saturday said a rear window in her vehicle had been broken overnight while the vehicle was parked in the driveway. Damage was estimated at $600.
A mail carrier used mace when confronted by a black Labrador on South Bank Street at about 1 p.m. Saturday.
John Turner, 47, of Tunkhannock, Pa., was arrested and charged with simple assault on South 5th Avenue at 11:21 p.m. Saturday. He was taken to Somerset Medical Center. Later he was taken to Day’s Inn hotel on Route 206.
At midnight Saturday a woman called to say an unknown man knocked on her door and said he’s been watching her. Patrols responded, spoke to the caller and checked the area, with no results.
Two rear windows on a yellow Ford outside of a Dominic Street address were reported broken, a caller said at 11:50 a.m. Sunday.
Many juveniles yelling obscenities were reported outside of the ticket office of Reading Cinemas at 2:12 p.m. Sunday. They had left by the time police arrived.
A Newark Avenue man called at 7:18 p.m. Sunday asked police to check on the well-being of a neighbor because his lights were left on. Patrolman John Granahan spoke with neighbor, who said he accidentally forgot to turn off the lights.
Two Manville officers went to Keyport at 3:53 a.m. Monday to pick up a 24-year-old Los Angeles man on a Manville traffic warrant. Sgt. Ronald Gazaway and Patrolman Granahan took the man to Somerset County Jail in default of $1,000 bail.
