The Manville Senior Citizens usually meet at 12:30 p.m. the second Thursday of each month at the VFW on Washington Avenue, but the October meeting has been changed to Oct. 18 for this month only.
The club is comprised of people who are residents of Manville, age 60 or older, and age 55, if disabled.
Canned goods or non-perishable food items will continue to be collected before each meeting, as well as soup labels. Remember to bring one item per member to help stock the Food Bank.
Blood pressure screening is held before the beginning of each meeting for members.
Manville Tax Collector Lisa Gericknot will attend meetings and be available from noon to 12:30 p.m. to help with any questions you may have.
School liaison Ned Panfile said there will be a dedication ceremony on Friday, Oct. 12, from 6 to 7 p.m. for the digital sign at Manville High School as well as the walkway bricks from the Buy a Brick program. Come and check out the bricks donated by alumni, graduating classes, residents, organizations and businesses.
Tickets for the Christmas party on Sunday, Dec. 9, at the VFW will be on sale at the Oct. 18 meeting, as well as the November meeting. Tickets are $10 for members and $20 for guests. A chart will be set up for seating arrangements; make sure you sign up.
