2012-2013 WIPP EDUCATION FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS
WASHINGTON, D.C. (AUGUST, 2012) n Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP), the nation’s largest nonpartisan women’s business group, announces the Board of Directors for the WIPP Education Foundation. Those chosen to serve are prominent women business leaders from across the country with strong track records of success both in business as well as in advocacy.

As board members, they will provide strategic counsel on strengthening the relationship between advocacy and education, and the impact of women-owned businesses at federal legislative and executive levels. They will bring their unique perspective to develop tools and resources to increase job creation, establish public/private partnerships and boost economic growth. The board members clearly define the relationship between the priority issues facing women-owned businesses, and the education, resources and tools required to successfully grow their businesses.

A transformational business leader, engineer, and entrepreneur, Forough Ghahramani is Founder and Principal of Life Sciences Computing, a Princeton, New Jersey-based consulting company that assists organizations in utilizing high performance computing to accelerate research and informatics services in the health, medical, and life sciences. In addition to running her business, Forough is Associate Dean of College of Business and Management and the Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University and is the Founding Director of the New Jersey Center for Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship (NJcICE). Prior to her current role, Forough was a Senior Systems Architect at Hewlett Packard. Forough’ diversified career experience includes higher education management, strategic planning, management consulting, business analysis and organization-wide information technology planning. During her tenure in academia, she has introduced new programs and led the accreditation process for programs in business and healthcare, including an innovative program in neurodiagnostic technology in partnership with the New Jersey Neuroscience Institute.
As a respected leader in women’s entrepreneurship and the recruitment and retention of women in the science, engineering, and technology, Forough is consulted on the state and national levels with regard to workforce development strategies. Forough contributed on Technology and Innovation to the Qauntum Leaps’ strategic initiative "Roadmap to 2020".
Forough is a National Founding Partner of Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP) and an officer on the WIPP Education Foundation Board. She has been active in soliciting support from leading policy makers for Women in business and STEM Education initiatives. She has participated in several events at the United Nations and the White House. She is a sought after speaker to represent trailblazing women in STEM fields. Combining her dedication to training of young women leaders in STEM fields with her passion for entrepreneurship, she has concentrated her volunteer efforts on developing programs to mentor, attract, and retain women in science, engineering, technology, and entrepreneurship.
Forough is a recipient of the Euro-American Women’s Council’s (EAWC) Artemis award for her contributions and advocacy for the future generation of women leaders in science, engineering, and technology. She is an Executive Officer on the Alumni Board of the Pennsylvania State University’s Eberly College of Science, and a member of the New Jersey Council on Gender Parity in Labor and Education’s Committee on Women in Science and Technology Workforce.
Forough has an MBA from DePaul University, MS in Computer Science from Villanova University, and BS in Mathematics with a minor in Biology from Pennsylvania State University. Forough has completed post graduate studies in "Women, Legacies, and Leadership" at the Wharton School of Business, and Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at Princeton University.
