This Saturday and Sunday — the Cranberry Festival returns.
The 23rd annual Bordentown City event is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
The goods from 140 vendors will be available for purchase — items such as jewelry, wind chimes, painted glassware, knitted scarves, wood, wreaths, ceramics, art, photography, infused oils and cranberry bread, according to an event press release. Restaurants will be offering al fresco dining along Farnsworth Avenue.
A free shuttle bus will pick up and drop off folks every 30 minutes.
Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085, 11 Amboy Ave., Bordentown Township, is offering free parking this year to the community.
The Quentin Hausser Memorial Antique and Classic Car Show will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, from noon to 4 p.m. Nearly 100 cars are expected, the release saidd.
There will be a separate children’s area featuring pony rides, build-a-bear, sand art, henna tattoos, face painting, a duck pond and balloons.
Oct. 7
Blessing of the Animals will take place at 9:15 a.m., Christ Church, 130 Prince St., Bordentown City in the churchyard.
The event is open to pets and owners, an event release said.

The Jacksonville Fire Company, 1793 Jacksonville-Jobstown Rd., will hold a Fire Prevention Day at the firehouse on Sunday, Oct. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Participants include the Springfield Township Emergency Services, Burlington County Services, and the Springfield Township Historical Society, according to an event press release.
Planned events include an annual open house, food and refreshments, door prizes, practice fire escape sessions, facts and information, metal detecting games for kids and home safety displays.
The Crosswicks United Methodist Church, located at the corner of Ward Avenue and Church Street in Chesterfield Township, will be having an all-you-eat dinner from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Tickets are $14 per adult and $6 for per child between the ages of 4 and 10. Takeouts are $15 each.
Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door, according to an event release.

The Chesterfield Township Historical Society will sponsor a presentation by Tim Kuser on “History of the Mercer Car” at 2 p.m. this Sunday at the Chesterfield Township Historical Society headquarters, 2 Front St., in Crosswicks.
The Mercer Automobile Company was founded in Trenton, New Jersey in 1909 and was funded by the Roebling and Krus engineering company, which is best known for building the Brooklyn Bridge, according to a press release. The earliest Mercers were renowned for their outstanding performance and could be taken from the showroom floor directly to the race track without any modifications.
