Amanda P. Strycharz, 26, of Trenton, was charged with driving while suspended after a traffic stop on High Street at 3:55 p.m., Sept. 29, police said.
Patrolman Richard Lerche made the arrest. Ms. Strycharz was processed and released with a pending court date.
Robert Mahrer, 27, of Howell, was charged with driving while suspended after a motor vehicle stop on North Main Street at 8:42 p.m., Sept. 30, police said.
Patrolman Tim Purpuri made the arrest. Mr. Mahrer was processed and released with a pending court date.
Robbinsville
A Walden Circle resident reported at 5:57 p.m., Sept. 24 that $530 in unauthorized purchases had been made on a missing debit card.
Patrolman Wayne Haugh took the report.
A thief stole several blank checks from a Route 130 business, forged the owner’s signature and cashed them, police said.
The owner of the business, which police did not identify, came to headquarters at 10:46 p.m., Sept. 24 to report the crime. The total amount stolen was $3,874, police said.
The victim told Patrolman Michael Farrell a former employee might have stolen the blank checks, police said. No arrests have been made.
Ivia Alleyne, 23, of Trenton, was charged with marijuana possession and other offenses after a motor vehicle stop at 9:57 a.m., Sept. 26, police said.
Patrolman Robert Quinn pulled a vehicle over on Route 130 near Hankins Road because it had failed to use its turn signal and had an obstructed windshield, police said. While speaking with the driver, the officer detected evidence of narcotics and a subsequent search revealed a small amount of marijuana.
Both the driver, Ms. Alleyne, and the passenger, Semaj Lynch, 33, of Trenton, also had outstanding warrants for their arrest, police said.
Ms. Alleyne was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, operating a motor vehicle while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, driving an uninsured vehicle, windshield obstruction, and contempt of court.
Mr. Lynch was charged with contempt of court.
Both occupants were charged and released with a pending court date.
A Route 130 North business owner reported at 5:36 p.m., Sept. 26 that someone had broken onto his property and stolen a trailer containing a racing truck.
The victim said the stolen trailer and race truck were worth a total $60,000. Patrolman Shawn Bruton took the report.
A thief stole 40 feet of copper piping and a Dewalt drill from a vehicle parked at a Winterset Drive residence on Sept. 28.
The victim reported the burglary and theft of the items, valued at $300, at 1:41 p.m. to Patrolman Robert Morgano.
Shams Zendaki, 25, of New Brunswick, and Christopher Petrowski, 22, of New Egypt, were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and other offenses after a motor vehicle stop at 2:45 p.m., Sept. 28, police said.
Patrolman William Swanhart saw a vehicle that failed to signal while exiting Interstate 195 onto Robbinsville-Allentown Road. The officer pulled the vehicle over and, while speaking with the occupants, detected evidence of narcotics in the vehicle. A subsequent search uncovered drug paraphernalia and the fact that the passenger, Mr. Petrowski, had outstanding warrants for his arrest, police said.
The driver was additionally charged with failure to use a turn signal and failure to notify of a change of address. The passenger was additionally charged with failure to wear a seat belt and contempt of court. Both were arrested, charged and released with a pending court date.
Plumsted
A New Egypt resident struck a utility pole and a parked car on a Magnolia Avenue driveway at 11:11 p.m., Sept. 29, police said.
The driver, Andrew Roberson, was not seriously injured, police said. His damaged vehicle had to be towed from the accident scene, police said. JCP&L was called out to repair the damaged pole.
Patrolman Vincent Doell is investigating the accident. No summonses had been issued as of press time, police said.
Police report that at 4:30 p.m., Sept. 26, an unidentified man stopped his pickup truck on Fieldcrest Drive and struck up a conversation with some young girls about a lost cat. When the girls’ mother came out of the home, he quickly got back into his vehicle and drove away.
The man is described as white, middle-age and bald. He was driving a red GMC pickup truck. Police are asking parents to remind children not to approach any vehicle or person that they do not know and to report suspicious activity to the Plumsted Police Department at 609-758-7185.
