SOUTH BRUNSWICK: Skull Riders to aid local child

For the eighth consecutive year, the Skull Riders are having the annual Halloween Run on Oct. 31, according to a press release.
The ride was started by the late Thomas Dardani, who lost his own battle with cancer earlier this year, to help the families of local children who have fallen ill.
Each rider is encouraged to wear a costume and decorate his or her motorcycle.
The riders will then will drive through South Brunswick Township and throw candy to trick-or-treaters lined up along the route, according to the group.
All proceeds raised from the bike run will go to a family from South Brunswick who has a child that has been diagnosed with a serious illness.
This year, the ride will help the family of Ray Fantel, 4, who has been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).
”We just bought a conversion van so Ray can sit in his wheelchair (soon he will have a power wheelchair) and be locked in safely,” his mother said in a press release announcing the ride. “Now, we are in the process of building an addition on the house to serve as his bedroom, bathroom and therapy room. Ray is getting too big to safely carry up and down the stairs and our house is not set up properly for him. We are so excited about the addition because it will give Ray the space that he needs and the freedom to move where he wants in his power wheelchair. The proceeds from the Halloween Run will be used for the addition, so we cannot thank you enough for your help.”
The group is soliciting donations from local businesses to support the cause, according to the release.
According to the group, donations can be made in the following formats including, monetary donations, door prizes such as gift cards, coupons, gift baskets, etc., or candy donations to be passed out to kids along the route.
Monetary donations payable by check can be made out to “Skull Riders” and mailed to Wendy Nagy, 136 Deans Lane, Monmouth Jct., NJ 08852. For donations of cash, door prizes or candy please call Tracy Bell at 732-208-2418 to arrange for pick up, according to the group.
