D & R Canal Walking Trail is a great place for Bordentown residents and visitors to walk, bike and enjoy nature. Unfortunately it is being crowded in by the undergrowth. The State Park staff can’t get the big cutting equipment across the canal footbridge.
Bordentown Heritage is providing food and soft drinks for volunteers who help clear the weeds, brush
and vines near the trail between Bordentown City and the foot bridge.
Anyone who wants to help: MEET starting at 9 am Saturday Oct. 13. Look for tent/info table at bottom of Farnsworth Avenue hill (near Bordentown Yacht Club and Riverview Studios).
Bring: GLOVES and hats. Weed wackers, lopping shears, pruning shears, trowels, shovels, and rakes
also welcome. Sun screen, bug repellant and water bottles are recommended. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
