SOUTH BRUNSWICK – A grease fire in the kitchen of the Eno Terra restaurant in Kingston causd the evacuation of an unknown number of patrons and employees Sunday evening, police said.
Sgt. Jim Ryan said firefighters from Kingston and Kendall Park responded to the popular restaurant on Route 27 around 6 p.m. Sunday night.
Firefighters were able to contain a small grease fire to the kitchen portion of the eatery, and no injuries were reported, Sgt. Ryan said.
While fire trucks from both volunteer departments remained at the scene beyond 7:30 p.m, police could not say how many employees and patrons were evacuated from the business.
"The customers may not even have been aware of the fire," Sgt. Ryan said.
Sgt. Ryan said the business would need to be inspected before it can open to the public again.
"I’m sure it will be up and running as soon as possible," Sgt. Ryan said.
It is one of three owned by the Terra Momo Restaurant Group including Mediterra on Hulfish Street and Teresacaffe on Palmer Square, both in Princeton, according to its website.
