Kitchens tour to aid SAFE in Hunterdon

Limited advance-sale tickets are available for the first annual “Kitchens of Hunterdon Tour” to be held on Oct. 17 to benefit SAFE in Hunterdon.
Marion Canan, committee chairwoman, said “six residences and one model home are on the tour, all with beautiful kitchens, including a cleverly revamped ranch-home kitchen, stunning old-stone-farmhouse makeover, and a brand-new kitchen that raises the bar for all new homes. All of them feature upscale design, appliances, and finishes that I think people will truly appreciate.”
Ms. Canan also said “friends can drive together at their own pace from one home to another and enjoy each other’s company, get good ideas for their own homes, and sample delicious small bites prepared by local chefs. It will be a fun day that benefits a serious cause, and we are grateful for the support of our many sponsors, including NVHomes, the Platinum Sponsor.”
In addition to having the opportunity to visit local resident kitchens accented with professional decorating, attendees will be offered special tastings in each kitchen presented by 55 Main, Blue Fish Grill, Market Roost, Matt’s Red Rooster, Metropolitan Seafood, and ShopRite. Desserts will be served by NVHomes.
The self-guided tour will run from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., starting at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Route 31 in Flemington. Purchase tickets in advance for $25 online at www.KitchensOfHunterdon.com, or at any of the ticket outlets: ShopRite in Flemington and Clinton; Chaos, Little Brothers Beverage Outlet, and Sphericality in Flemington; the Clinton Book Store in Clinton; Artiste Salon in Lebanon; and Charles Tiles in Stockton.
Tickets also can also be purchased for $30 on the day of the event between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, where all attendees will be given tour maps. The Starting Point itself will have its own temptations: Smoothie King will offer tastings at St. Paul and vendor boutiques will present specialty foods and items for sale. The list of vendors can be found online.
All ticket sales, donations from sponsors, and a percentage of the vendors’ proceeds will be donated to SAFE in Hunterdon.
The Tour will take place rain or shine. Carpooling is encouraged. Attendees will be asked to remove their footwear as they enter the houses, but will receive carrying bags at the Starting Point. No pets or photography will be permitted. Children 13 and older are welcome.
