BORDENTOWN CITY: Halloween Parade nears

BORDENTOWN CITY — The Bordentown Halloween Parade will take place Sunday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m.
In addition to many marchers, participating bands this year are Bordentown Regional High School Band, New Egypt High School Band, Liberty Band, Baltimore Westsiders, and Hamilton Township Professional Firefighters Pipe and Drum Band, plus Reilly’s Raiders and Melrose Blackhawks Senior Drum and Bugle Corp.
The Consolidate Fire Association, which has run the parade for 42 years, will be teaming up with the Bordentown Kiwanis Club to collect new packaged socks during the parade. The goal is 1,000 pairs of socks.
The parade will begin at 2 p.m. downtown.
Masquerades will be judged in front of St. Mary’s School at 1 p.m. Cash prizes for children, adult and group costumes will be handed out.
Many houses throughout Bordentown and Fieldsboro are already decorated for Halloween. Houses will be judged starting Saturday, Oct. 20.
Donations are still needed to defray the parade’s cost, and can be mailed to Consolidated Fire Assn, P.O. Box 47, Bordentown, NJ 08505. Donations will also be accepted during the parade, where we have volunteers collecting along the parade route.
