POLICE BLOTTER: Week of Oct. 12

East Windsor
   Armando Lazo, 34, of Princeton, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, obstructing traffic, failure to maintain lane, open container of alcohol in motor vehicle, illegal window tint at 2:47 a.m. Sept. 23. Police said an officer observed a 1998 Honda traveling north on Route 130 with illegally tinted windows. The vehicle was further observed to be operating erratically and was stopped. The driver, Mr. Lazso, was found to have an odor of an alcoholic beverage and an open beer inside the vehicle.
   He was given field sobriety tests and charged for DWI. He was later released pending court action.
   A complainant reported that someone had entered her unlocked residence and stolen a jewelry box and several loose pieces of jewelry worth approximately $2,500 between 6 a.m. Sept. 8 and 12:47 Sept. 26, police said. The incident is under investigation.
Police said that a complainant reported that someone had entered her unoccupied Clark Court residence and stolen a cable modem worth approximately $150 as well as two jars of loose change containing approximately $50 between noon Sept. 10 and 2 p.m. Sept. 23.
   The incident is under investigation.
   Officers were dispatched to the area of Greenbrook Drive at 2:38 p.m. Sept. 21 for a report of two suspicious men soliciting. Police said that one of the men gave a false name and personal information. His true identity, Camilo Reyes, 39, of Freehold, was discovered after an investigation, as well as the fact that he had an outstanding arrest warrant from Freehold, according to police. He was charged with obstructing justice, hindering apprehension, and soliciting without permit.
   Mr. Reyes was arrested and later released pending court action.
   Sapan Patel, 24, of Winchester Drive, was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, reckless driving and failure to maintain lane on Sept. 27. Police said an officer observed a 2004 GMC turning left from Lake Drive onto Route 33 and strike the curb at 12:06 a.m. The vehicle continued operating in an erratic manner. The vehicle was stopped on Twin Rivers Drive near Ithaca Place.
   The driver, Mr. Patel, was observed to have slurred speech and bloodshot, watery eyes, police said. He was given field sobriety tests and charged with DWI.
   He was later released pending court action.
   At 1:37 a.m. Sept. 30 an officer observed a 1997 Pontiac traveling eastbound on Route 33with a light out. The vehicle was stopped as it pulled into the Shell station and the officer smelled the odor of marijuana inside the vehicle, police said.
   The driver, Troy Powell, 19, of Hooverton Place, showed signs of being under the influence of marijuana, police said. He was given field sobriety tests. Additionally, during the investigation, a partially smoked marijuana cigarette was found inside the vehicle.
   He was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, uninsured vehicle, drugs in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana under 50 grams and under the influence of marijuana. Mr. Powell was later released pending court action.
   Officers responded to Walmart for a report of a shoplifter in custody 5:03 p.m. Sept. 30, police said.
   Store personnel reported that Maria Ikram, 29, of Plainsboro, was observed concealing various food items, worth $67, in her purse and leaving the store without paying police stated.
   She was charged with shoplifting and later released pending court action.
   Police charged a teen with shoplifting at Walmart approximately 6:45 p.m. Sept. 30.
   Police said store personnel reported that the 17-year-old juvenile, of Hamilton, was observed removing two Xbox hard drives worth $258 from their packaging and placing them in his pockets. The juvenile was released to a parent pending court action.
   Police stated that an officer was traveling west on Route 571 at 12:46 a.m. Oct. 1 when a black Mazda swerved into the officer’s lane from the opposite direction, forcing the officer to swerve to avoid a collision. The vehicle continued operating in an erratic manner and was speeding. The vehicle was stopped as it turned into the Munchee’s parking lot.
   The driver, Ludwin Lopez, 29, of Windsor Castle, was observed to have an odor of an alcoholic beverage and bloodshot, watery eyes, police said. He was given field sobriety tests.
   Mr. Lopez was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, reckless driving, speeding, uninsured vehicle, unlicensed driver and failure to maintain lane. He was later released pending court action.
   Police said at 9:44 p.m. Oct. 1, an officer observed a 2007 Ford stopped in the intersection of Probasco Road and Route 33.
   When speaking with the driver, Angelina Sancilio, 25, of Perrineville, the officer found her speech to be rambling and incoherent, and she had droopy eyes, police said, adding that she admitted to taking prescription narcotics. She was given a field sobriety test.
   She was charged with under the influence of narcotic, driving while intoxicated, DWI in school zone, reckless driving, careless driving and obstructing traffic. She was later released pending court action.
   Police said a complainant reported that her unlocked vehicle was entered overnight on Sept. 29 while parked on Twin Rivers Drive North and approximately $5,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from inside the vehicle.
   The complainant reported that her unlocked vehicle was entered while parked at the Dunkin Donuts store between 11:30 p.m. and 11:35 p.m. Oct. 4 and her iPhone worth approximately $699 was stolen from inside the vehicle, police said.
   The complainant reported that her vehicle, which was disabled, had been stolen from the parking lot near her apartment in Dorchester Arms between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. Oct. 5, police said. The vehicle was described as a blue 1999 Kia Sportage and was valued at approximately $2,000. The incident is under investigation.
   The officer observed a silver Volvo travelling southbound on Route 130 in an erratic manner at 3:07 a.m. Oct. 6, police said. The vehicle was stopped and found to have a flat tire.
   The driver, Suzane Favaro, 24, of Pemberton Lane, was observed to have an odor of an alcoholic beverage and bloodshot, watery eyes, police said. She was given field sobriety tests.
   Ms. Favaro was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to signal lane change, failure to maintain lane and unsafe tires. She was later released pending court action.
   Police said between 11:30 a.m. an 12:22 p.m. Oct. 6, a complainant reported to law enforcement that he had left his wallet unattended in the gazebo at Woods Road Park while he exercised. Upon returning to the gazebo, he discovered that his wallet containing $50 cash, several credit cards and personal papers, had been stolen.
   Officers responded at 11:38 p.m. Oct. 6 to an Oakbranch Road address for a report that the resident had been involved in an argument at that residence and had left the area in his vehicle with several firearms, including a prohibited assault rifle, police said. The complainant turned over several illegal high capacity magazines, which were for the weapon.
   A warrant was issued for the defendant, Joseph Schneider, 47, of Oakbranch Road, for the illegal magazines and bail was set at $10,000, according to police. Mr. Joseph Schneider’s vehicle was later observed at the residence and he was later arrested.
   The illegal firearm was seized as well as several other weapons and a bag of marijuana, police said.
   Charges for the additional contraband were filed and an additional $10,000 bail was set. Mr. Schneider was charged with possession of illegal weapon, unlawful possession of weapons, possession of high capacity magazine and possession of marijuana under 50 grams. He was released pending court action after posting bail.
   Construction personnel reported that appliances had been stolen from a Endeavor Boulevard residence under construction between noon Oct. 7 and 9 a.m. Oct. 8, police said. The total value of the appliances was $4848. The incident is under investigation.
=Hightstown
   At 11:30 p.m. Sept. 27 on Maxwell Avenue, officers charged Cecile Laflamme, 59, of Pine Beach, with speeding, driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, refusal to submit to the breath test, and reckless driving, police said.
   Ms. Laflamme was stopped for traveling 41 mph in a 25 mph speed zone. Upon being stopped, the officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage and had the driver perform field sobriety tests, which she failed, police said. Ms. Laflamme was taken into custody where she refused to submit breath samples for analysis.
   Ms. Laflamme was later released to a friend with pending court action.
   Officers charged Harry Morris, 39, of Trenton, with providing false information, contempt of court, driving while suspended, and speeding at 6:44 p.m. Sept. 30 on Mercer Street, police said.
   Mr. Morris was stopped for traveling 41 mph in a 25 mph speed zone, and police said he provided a false name to the officer which showed a warrant for the name provided in the amount of $700 issued by Trenton Municipal Court. He was taken into custody and his true identity was discovered, as Mr. Morris, who was found to be suspended and had six warrants issued by Trenton Municipal Court totaling $8,666 and one warrant issued by Hamilton Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1221.
   Mr. Morris was released upon posting bail with pending court action.
   Between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. Oct. 1, an unknown person or persons forced entry into an apartment in Westerlea Arms, and stole two rings totaling $900, police said. The front door was pried with an unknown object to gain entry. Upon returning home, the victim discovered the door unlocked and ajar.

   Between 10 p.m. Oct. 4 and 9 a.m. Oct. 5 officers responded to the 200 block of Academy Street on a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle, police said. Upon speaking with the victim, officers found that the victim’s vehicle was parked in a lot and sometime during the night unknown person or persons scratched the driver’s side of the vehicle and placed three small dents into the vehicle. The amount of damage was estimated at $100.

   At 5:09 p.m. Oct. 5 in the Stockton Street Lot, officers arrested Vicente Diaz, 49, of Gardenview Terrace, East Windsor, and charged him with urinating in public, disorderly conduct, and contempt of court, police said.
   During a foot patrol officers observed the subject hiding in the area of the dumpsters, where he urinated while children, women, and family were present, police stated. Mr. Diaz was detained and was found to be in an intoxicated state and unable to be identified. Mr. Diaz was also found to have an active warrant issued by Cranbury Township Municipal Court in the amount of $106.
   Mr. Diaz was taken into custody, was processed, and later released on bail with pending court action.
   At 3:18 a.m. Oct. 6 on Franklin Street, officers arrested Daniel Primero-Chico, 22, of Sicklerville, and charged him with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, unlicensed driving, and failure to maintain lane, police said.
   While on patrol officers observed the subject weaving across the fog line and center line of Franklin Street, police said. Mr. Primero-Chico was stopped for the infraction and the officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage which led to having the subject perform field sobriety tests. He failed the sobriety tests and was taken into custody.
   At police headquarters Mr. Primero-Chico submitted breath samples that resulted in a reading of 0.15 percent BAC. Police said he was held until sober and then released with pending court action.
