On Friday, October 19, 2012, beginning at 7:30pm, WDVR (89.7 FM) will host a concert and party to celebrate the release of Patrick Clifford’s new CD, Chance of a Start. The event will take place at the Virginia Napurano Cultural Arts Center, 522 Rosemont-Ringoes Road (Route 604), Sergeantsville NJ.
Clifford, a Hunterdon County resident and a host of WDVR’s Celtic Sunday Brunch (airing every Sunday from 11am to 1pm) will perform with many of the musicians who appear on the CD: Randy Decker on percussion, Marty Guilfoyle on accordion, Wolf Hul on fiddle and mandolin, Ed Hummel on fiddle, and Judy Minot on piano.
Admission is $10, or $5 for children under 12. Proceeds will go to WDVR’s fall fundraising drive.
“In the Hunterdon County area, WDVR is not just another radio station: It’s an institution, and a cultural touchstone. So it’s very gratifying for me to be able to use my personal project as a way to help fund that cause,” said Clifford. “And, thanks to the great musicians who will be accompanying me, these songs have never sounded better. We’ll be playing not only material from the new album, but some great old Irish classics. Plus, we’ll finish up with an old-fashioned Irish music session, where everyone in attendance is welcome to play or sing along. We’re looking forward to a great night.”
