Letter: Thank you from the Pritkin family

To the editor:
We are deeply touched from the bottom of our hearts by the initiative and generosity of New Egypt Baseball and our wonderful New Egypt neighbors who helped put together and attended the wonderful “JUSTINSANITY” Night on Aug. 4.
Living with leukemia the past six months has been challenging and there have been very few bright spots in our son Justin’s life since then — but this event was definitely one of them. To see hundreds of friends and neighbors assembled in tribute to Justin, most wearing JUSTINSANITY shirts, or orange in general, was just awesome. The money that was raised was just icing on the cake. As you can imagine, it’s quite a costly treatment. Last week’s hospital visit was literally $40,000. While insurance pays for most of it, the co-pays and minimums add up quickly.
From the meals being prepared for us, to the ribbons around town, to the kids in school, to the basketball pins, it’s been an amazing experience to see the town band together for our little man. And JUSTINSANITY on Aug. 4 will always be one of the highlights.
Please pass this along to the many folks who attended and volunteered that afternoon and evening. We are eternally grateful. For updates on Justin’s progress, check out Justinsanity.com, and his CaringBridge Blog.
