School presents ‘Stuck in the Middle’

The highs and lows of middle school life in 2012 are explored in “Stuck in the Middle,” a new musical being performed by the Center Stage students of the New Hope-Solebury Middle School Drama Club.
Running for two special shows, the musical will be performed on Oct. 26 and 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Stephen J. Buck Memorial Theater, 180 W. Bridge St., New Hope.
The musical made its world premiere during the 2010 season at New Jersey’s Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre. A show about the trials and tribulations of middle school life, the production is based on workshops conducted with 30 middle school students. The students, sharing personal stories and anecdotes of their lives, helped to create the fictional story and original music of the show. It touches on everything from the effects of bullying to the excitement of a first kiss and promises to take the audience on a journey back to their own early years.
It was written by author and composer, Louis Palena, who serves as the artistic director for Titusville’s Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre. Appearing as leads are New Hope-Solebury Middle School students, Hope King, Michael Moore, Bella Farina, Natalie Russo, Serena Weil and Tabitha Liucci.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students. Tickets will be sold at the door prior to showtime.
