October 26th & 27th will be very special evenings for the Titans and a great cause as they take to the ice at 7:05 p.m. each evening in sure-to-please games against Toledo at the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton.
A portion of the tickets sold will benefit the Breast Cancer Resource Center (BCRC) at YWCA Princeton. Seats are available in a variety of sections at different price points. Tickets must be purchased through Megan Cook at (609) 789-5006 and can be picked up at the will call window. Hockey enthusiasts, individuals, families, and groups are encouraged attend what will be a great evening for a great cause.
Throughout the month, the Titans hockey team and the arena has been a pink powerhouse awash in pink including the dasher boards that surround the ice. The players’ will be sporting pink jerseys and pads as they have all month. Fans are encouraged to show their support by wearing pink.
The Trenton Titans, ECHL member and proud affiliate of the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers, is committed to raising funds and increasing awareness regarding breast cancer. "When our off ice official, Denise Helms, a breast cancer survivor herself, introduced me to the women of the Breast Cancer Resource Center at YWCA Princeton, I knew we found our partner," said Titans CEO Rich Lisk. "This organization is special and it helps people with breast cancer where they need it most. We are honored to be working with them."
The Breast Cancer Resource Center has been providing much needed support to local women since 1972. It is committed to ensuring donations directly support people in meaningful ways such as providing individuals with breast cancer a free wig, prosthetic, or mastectomy bra through its in-house boutique, financial assistance, and emotional support. “Partnerships such ours with the Titans enable us to reach a wider audience,” shares Diane Hasili, YWCA Princeton spokesperson.
For four decades, it has provided crucial services to help women through all phases of breast cancer – from discovery, through treatment, remission, and recurrence. Long recognized in the community for its quality support services, it has become a model for similar facilities across the country.
Survivors point to its individual and family support groups as an important facet of their recoveries. Being able to connect in a safe, nurturing environment, is pivotal to many women. Offerings extend to a wide variety of wellness classes as includes zumba, yoga, nia, strengthen & stretch, and water exercise.
The center has also been at the forefront of empowering and motivating women to take responsibility for their own breast health and reaches out to more than 5,000 area residents each year through workshops in corporations, faith-based organizations, and community groups.
