Letter: Vote for Shennard for Robbinsville Township Council

From: Council President Ron Witt; Council Vice President Vince Calcagno; Councilwoman Chris Ciaccio; and Councilwoman Sheree McGowan.
To the editor:
The members of the Robbinsville Township Council are announcing our unanimous endorsement of Councilman Dennis Shennard in the Nov. 6 election.
Since joining the Township Council, Dennis has been an active member and we have enjoyed a renewed sense of teamwork. This is precisely the type of approach we need to maintain on council to continue moving Robbinsville productively forward.
Dennis served on the Zoning Board of Adjustment for several years and shares our desire to make Robbinsville a better place to live each and every day. He believes as we do that responsible and balanced growth is the key to effective tax stabilization. Without a commitment to responsible and balanced growth, property taxes are difficult to control. If we don’t continue to make a concerted effort on this front, we could experience escalation like we have seen in neighboring towns.
We have made great strides with respect to this goal over the last year. Four major developments have been announced recently.
   • McKesson Corp. will be building a new 350,000 square foot distribution facility
   • Walgreens plans a 14,000 square foot store on Route 33
   • Matrix will be building a 1 million square foot warehouse facility
   • Roma Bank just broke ground on a new 30,000 square foot office building on Route 33
In addition to these projects, Sharbell Development and Elite Showplace Complex LLC were named developer for Town Center South. The sports complex and other buildings planned will generate local jobs and vital tax revenue for both the municipality and the school district. This is a win-win for all parties!
As a small business owner, Dennis’ experience and insight will prove invaluable to our focus on economic development. We need to attract, as well as retain, local businesses in order to have a strong commercial ratable base in Robbinsville.
Dennis brings an agenda-free platform to the table and is only concerned with what is in the best interest of Robbinsville. As a successful business owner, Dennis is adept at tackling challenges and knows the importance of good government. He asks difficult questions yielding intelligent deliberations, which result in sound decisions.
In closing, we are proud to support Dennis Shennard. He is a successful business owner that lives and works in Robbinsville. His close ties to the community allow him to interact with residents and stay connected to important local issues. He is honest and accountable and shares our desire to expand the commercial ratable base in town with the goal of stabilizing property taxes.
Please join us and vote on Nov. 6 for Dennis Shennard for Township Council. Doing so will maintain all the positive momentum generated over the past year and allow us all to move Robbinsville forward!
