To the editor:
Nov. 6th is just 12 days away. As for all elections, it is extremely important that you exercise your right to vote. I am proud to endorse Rich Onderko and Sue Star for Manville Borough Council.
Rich is completing his first three-year term. He has been instrumental in bringing our town’s devastating flood conditions, due to the past two hurricanes, to the attention of our constituents in the legislature. Not only did he travel to Washington, D.C., to seek funding and assistance, he has also had personal contact with our governor, and lieutenant governor. Rich has demonstrated strong advocacy by initiating the Manville Flood Commission, formerly known as the Flood Committee. He was also one of three council persons to vote no for a borough tax increase.
Sue Star has also proven to be a dedicated member of our community in many areas throughout the borough. She also has Borough Council experience. Sue has used her nursing expertise for the betterment of Manville by volunteering at the VFW shelter each time it has been opened to the public. Sue is one of several residents who attend all Borough Council meetings.
As president of the Board of Health she continuously provides a wealth of pertinent information to the council and community regarding mold infestation, and contamination on abandons homes in our town. Sue’s medical knowledge has been as asset for Manville citizens.
Both Rich Onderko and Sue Star are educated, professional and compassionate people. As lifelong residents they not only have pride in their community but have a vested interest as well.
Councilwoman Sue Asher
