Welcoming Karen Alexander, Executive Director of WilfSenior Services at Home

By Toby Ehrlich
The Oscar and Ella Wilf Campus for Senior Living is happy to welcome Karen Alexander, MPA, CALA who has joined our team as the Executive Director of WilfSenior Services at Home. Karen comes to us with a large array of experience in working with older adults, government programs, grant writing and at home service programs. Karen, a former employee of the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest, NJ, was the Director of Eldercare Services for eight years. In this position she focused on meeting the needs of aging community members and their families, including organizing the interagency MetroWest CARES, which coordinates services for senior citizens.  Karen’s previous experience includes Director of Program Development and Evaluation at the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center in New York City and working for NJ Transit Office of Special Services as Manager.  Karen’s new challenge will be to create a program that will provide aging in place services for the Central New Jersey older adult Community. Karen says” the key to creating a good program is finding out what the community needs” and she will be contacting area agencies and speaking with local seniors to evaluate these needs.
Karen resides in Metuchen with her husband Fred. Karen is an avid reader and is a trustee on the Friends of Library Board in Metuchen. In addition Karen’s interests include cooking, exercising at her local YMCA and collecting antique cookbooks. The entire staff and Wilf Campus board welcomes Karen Alexander to our campus.
