WEST AMWELL: South to honor seniors who started soccer program

   Today (Oct. 25), the entire community is invited to attend a special soccer event at South Hunterdon Regional High School.
   It is Senior Night and the 17-and 18-year-olds who as fifth-and sixth-graders appeared before the school board to urge them to bring a soccer program to SHRHS will play their final home game.
   ”It’s quite incredible what these kids have done all these years. First to work to help bring soccer to South and then to see their dedication on the soccer pitch. I’m proud of them,” said South’s Athletic Director Jason Miller.;
   The senior girls are Holly Kapsimalles, Roxanne Kreider and Erika Waslin. The senior boys are Paul Cally, Rolondo Huesca, Liam Piscatelli, Lloyd Seiter, Alex Singleton, Alberto Ramirez, and Kyle Tillet. They are lead by senior captains Patrick Ferry, Zach Mastrich, Andrew Nini and Jonathan Wendeborn.
   In addition to honoring the seniors, the entire community — especially younger players from area soccer leagues and clubs — are encouraged to come out for a fun-filled and action-packed evening.
   The soccer double-header kicks off at 5:15 p.m. when the South Girls High School Team takes on Morris County Tech. The South Boys will battle Bound Brook at 7 p.m.
   A ceremony honoring the seniors from both squads will be held between the games. The Eagle Eatery with its famous homemade chili will be open throughout the night.
