Against election by deception tactics

Stephen D. Benowitz of Bordentown Township
Republican Deputy Mayor Michael Dauber is using “election by deception” tactics in his bid for re-election.
He claims to have received $1.7 million in grants, increased the ratable base, has created $100 million in construction projects, invested $318,848 in capital
improvements and enhanced recreational facilities. However, these projects occurred prior to his term of office. Furthermore, his claim related to the Waterfront Pilot agreement does not mention the risks that will be
incurred by the township tax payers. The agreement requires the township to bond some project improvements. His claim for upgrading Public Works was once again planned and approved prior to his being elected to office. Funds for senior and special needs housing were also designated prior to Mr. Dauber’s term of office.
Candidates who try to take credit for accomplishments that are not theirs, do not merit the trust of voters and do not deserve to be re-elected to the Bordentown Township Committee.
