The New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association (NJVMA) is accepting nominations for its 18th annual Animal Hall of Fame.
Every year the NJVMA commemorates the human-animal bond by recognizing exceptional animals and individuals who have had a positive impact on animal welfare by inducting them into the NJVMAAnimal Hall of Fame.
“Animals, whether they are pets, service, therapy, hero or classroom animals, have so much to teach us,” said Dr. Peter Falk, chair of the Animal Hall of Fame Committee. “The companionship and work they do compliments our lives. Throughout history people and animals have been inseparable. Every pet owner and veterinarian can tell you amazing stories of their pet or the ones they treat. Just some of these amazing animals will be honored at the NJVMA Animal Hall of Fame.”
To nominate a pet, complete the NJVMA Animal Hall of Fame application available at www.njvma.org. Winners will be honored at a public awards ceremony scheduled for March 3, 2013.
To be considered, all nominations should include an official application signed by the animal’s owner, the name and contact information of the animal’s veterinarian and a letter of nomination from the animal’s owner or veterinarian explaining how the animal has exhibited special abilities or courage. Nominations also may include additional letters of support, photographs, videos, drawings or newspaper clippings.
Nominations must be submitted by Dec. 1.
