Committeewoman Jill Popko Bordentown Township
For the past year and a half I have had a seat on the Township Committee and become very familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of the candidates from both parties running for office on Nov. 6
It is true that I have a bias towards the candidates who are represented by my party, but my first responsibility is to the residents of Bordentown Township.
Over the past year I have witnessed Michael Dauber continuously set the agenda and manipulate his fellow party members to benefit himself and his re-election campaign, rather than do what is in the best interest of our township. His arrogance towards community members when they come before us at meetings is always disappointing.
Unfortunately, John Moynihan has shown an inability to work together as a team member to move our Township forward; instead choosing to follow rather than lead. He has come to the table with no new ideas and no creative thought.
Our township is struggling financially because the past 11 years thoughtless decisions have been made by people who follow and don’t lead for the good of our entire community. A number of residents have complained to me about issues that have been problematic, that they have tried for years to have the township remedy, only to be ignored or disrespected.
Do we really need more of the same?
I urge everyone to please get out and vote Nov. 6 for Stephen Benowitz and Kershaw Westin. Both are more than qualified and have a proven track record of caring for our community as well as our country. Both men have shown that they can lead as well as listen, with respect.
