PRINCETON – Polling locations in Princeton will change in more than half of all election districts as a result of power outages from megastorm Sandy, officials said Friday.
Township Clerk Linda McDermott said 14 out of the 22 polling places will be moved due to Hurricane Sandy.
The changes look like this, according to Ms. McDermott:
Districts nine, 11 and 21 at Community Park School will move to the gym at John Witherspoon Middle School located at 217 Walnut Lane.
District three will move from Johnson Park School also to the gym at John Witherspoon Middle School.
Districts five and 22 at Princeton Township Municipal building on Witherspoon Street will move to the hallway of the Princeton High School Performing Arts building located at 151 Moore St..
District six will move from the Suzanne Paterson Center to the Princeton University Computer Science Center located on 35 Olden St..
District one at the Hun School, District two at the Johnson Education Center, District four at the Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart, districts 14 and 20 at Princeton Charter School and Districts 15 and 16 at Littlebrook Elementary School all are moving to Princeton University’s Jadwin Gym located at 800 Faculty Road.
Voters in all other voting districts will vote at their normal polling places. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m..
To alert residents, Mercer County is mailing updated polling place information to all registered voters, with the information also on the township web site, www.princetontwp.org and the borough web site www.princetonboro.org.
Also there will be a reverse 911 call to all residents who have provided officials with a cell or home phone number.
